Like many boys of his age, for the past few months, my son has been reading any book or magazine he could find about Marvel and DC comics. I have been bombarded with little known facts and many quizzes to which I must admit, I had no answer most of the times. I have been challenged numerous time to debate the merits of such and such character or which superhero would survive if they battle each others !!
So as I was looking to find an activity for an upcoming rainy day, I came across an Ad for Comic Con in Boston. This would be a first for both of us, since I had never been to one of those convention before. I always read about them and see how people get into it and create amazing costumes for those events, so I thought I might take advantage of it to make some unusual portraits as well.
The event was definitely worth it. There was a lot of vendors with many cool items and my son was more than pleased to be my tour guide and explain to me who was who, as we went in each aisle of the expo. He didn't want to dress up prior to the event but he had a special Ironman t-shirt on and few people complemented him on it which brought a big smile to his face : he was one of them !
As for me, I had a great time with him, the event was a lot of fun and I even got to take some cool pictures. My favorite had to be that one guy who created this amazing steampunk batman suit with fully functional wings, just unbelievable !!
